Wiring Motion Sensor Porch Light Fixture
Motion sensor porch light fixture – The exterior of your home can be a little spooky at night. A constant flood light energy waste and turning on a porch light when you hear a sound may be too little too late. Consider installing motion sensor lights on the porch or in place of a flood or standard porch light. The cables are quite simple, and the light will alert you to movement outside your home.

Remove the casing that holds the light on the wall. Use a screwdriver or drill to remove the screws. Remove the existing light fixture from the wall carefully. Hold it in one hand while you untwist the wires from the house wires. When disconnected, determine the fixture and pick up motion sensor light.
Strip the ends of the wires on the new motion sensor porch light fixture as you expose enough to turn connect to the house wires. Pull the wires of the motion sensor that cords from the house. The wires are always covered with different colored plastic so that you know which is which. Black is voltage cables. White is neutral wires. And green is ground wires. The ground wires can also be pure copper without lacquer. You may or may not have a ground wire running from the house. If not, then tuck the ground wire on the fixture back into the housing and out of the way.
